I'm Gontse, a Johannesburg-based graduate and junior software developer. I enjoy working across the interface and the system behind it — and getting the details right.

Learning through the work.

I am completing a Bachelor of Computer and Information Sciences (Web & Application Development), with expected completion in 2026. My work has covered client websites, payment flows, data-backed applications, native mobile apps and academic systems.

Through Dev404 Labs, I have delivered work for South African organisations and brands. That brings a different kind of learning: gathering requirements, making trade-offs, responding to feedback and taking responsibility for the handover.

I like working across the interface and the system behind it. I want to understand how something works, test the approach and revisit the details after the first version. Good design and dependable software belong in the same conversation.

How I approach a build.

Test, review and revisit the details.

  1. Understand the pressure

    Start with the people, the business need and the environment the system must work in.

  2. Make the system legible

    Shape the data, user flow and architecture before adding visual detail.

  3. Build in inspectable layers

    Work in small, testable slices that can be reviewed through code, behaviour and evidence.

  4. Prepare the handover

    Document the decisions, release steps and limitations that matter after the first delivery.
